INFANTS

Children move from Early Years into Infants, where they will be for the next two years (Year 1 and Year 2). Class sizes are small with a maximum of 20 children.

Our broad and balanced curriculum follows all the subjects of the National Curriculum and builds upon the firm foundations developed in our Early Years. We have high academic standards and encourage every child to complete each activity and task to the best of their abilities.

As children enter Key Stage 1 they begin a more formal learning program, as well as Maths and English the children also study Science, ICT, Religious Education, Humanities, French, Art, Design Technology, Music, Drama, Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE).

There is a strong focus on phonics, children are heard read on a daily basis, spellings and timetables tests are done weekly and homework is given regularly throughout the week. Children are also able to access our on line Maths Whizz tutor from home.
