From Year 3 onwards children go on an annual residential trip, these are something that the children keenly look forward to.
Residential trips give the children opportunities interact with their peers in a different environment and further cement their relationships outside of school. Children also gain self confidence, independence and learn to appreciate the countryside and outdoor opportunities. The educational residential trips enable the children to safely explore a range of challenging activities, often learning new skills and leaving them with a great sense of achievement. You will be invoiced for the residential visit in the Autumn term as this is when we need to make payments to the providers. If you have any concerns about your child’s suitability for a residential visit then please chat them over with your class teacher.
Year 3 Colomendy – http://www.kingswood.co.uk/centres/colomendy This residential visit takes place over two nights. Kingswood are one of the UK’s leading providers of outdoor education. Your child will have a chance of experiencing adventures outdoors and indoors, although, due to the time of year, these will not include any water sports.
Year 4 – YHA Castleton, Hope Valley, Derbyshire http://www.yha.org.uk/school-trips This residential visit to takes place over two nights usually in May. Your child will have chance of experiencing what it takes to be an Eco Explorer whilst on this action packed Bushcraft themed package.
Year 5 visit Conwy Youth Hostel – http://www.yha.org.uk/school-trips this residential visit is usually planned for April. The three day stay will focus around a literary theme based on one book and takes the form of a spy camp with many exciting activities both indoors and out.
Year 6 visit Rhoscolyn – http://www.outdooralternative.co.uk/ This residential trip usually takes place during May. This residential to Outdoor Alternative, in Anglesey. Involves Coasteering,
