Pottery Classes Resume!
We are delighted to commence our wonderful pottery classes again this term with our very own pottery tutor, Mrs Kay. The challenge of keeping our children safely within their bubbles and in their own classrooms, as we work hard to comply with Covid-19 regulations, means that we are currently unable to access the pottery room. Not to be deterred however, Mrs Kay has been going to the classrooms and delivering whole class lessons to the children during our Friday afternoon ‘Extra Extra’ sessions. Liaising carefully with the teachers, she has been planning her activities around the topics the children have been studying in class. Year 3 are in the process of making some beautiful seals which fits with their literacy work this half term and Year 4 are hard at work making a gorilla pot based on Anthony Browne’s books. Mrs Kay, who also runs, ‘The Clay Room Chester’ is delighted to be able to resume the classes and provide the children with the opportunity to work with the clay, developing the skills that they built during the previous year’s lessons. Mrs Kay will visit all classes in the coming months, from our youngest Fir Cones nursery children to our oldest Year 6 class ensuring they all get the chance to create!
