On Wednesday the 18th January, 20 children from Year 5 and 6 attended the Chester
School Sports Partnership Indoor Athletics event at Ellesmere Port Sports Village. The
children competed in a range of different disciplines across track and field, including
hurdles, sprints, paarlauf (pronounced /par/-/laf/ apparently!), relays, javelin, chest push,
standing long jump and vertical jump. All children competed and represented the school
brilliantly. In the end, we finished joint 4th out of 7 schools but a special shout out needs
to go to Katie in Y5 and Tilly in Y6 who teamed up to win the 2 + 2 sprint race! A huge
congratulations to all of the children who took part and a big thank you to the Chester
SSP team and West Cheshire Athletics team for volunteering, enabling the event to go ahead
