Year 6 Residential to Rhoscolyn

An exciting time was had by Y6 on their residential this year as they took up the challenges of coasteering, surfing, sea kayaking and the Anglesey weather! Toasting marshmallows on the beach (in the rain at one point) and building sandcastles (as the tide came in) all added to the sense of adventure.

Some of the children commented:

“My favourite part was coasteering, climbing rocks and jumping off into the water which was a bit cold – but it didn’t matter!”

“I loved the sandcastle competition and when we all went to a rocky beach and had a fire with songs and marshmallows on a stick.”

“I would recommend the surfing – if you haven’t done it before this is the time to do it!”

“The best part for me was coasteering because I was really scared but with the help of my group and Mr Girvan I managed to do it and was really proud!”

Many thanks to the staff at Outdoor Alternative and BActive who always make us welcome and look forward to our visit – a real Firs tradition.
