Our Year 6 children have been busy over the last few months as they worked on their business enterprise projects. Thanks to parent Mr Stone from Gas Safe Europe for sponsoring this event and providing the children with valuable advice. Each group were given £10 to start and develop their business. They had to think hard about their choice of product, pricing, production and marketing. We were impressed by their fabulous ideas and original company names.
The whole school have enjoyed buying, sampling, displaying and wearing their creations, and we were delighted this month to welcome Mr Stones back into school to judge their projects. Each group had created a business plan and kept strict records of their project development, their sales and purchases, their marketing and evaluated how their project had gone. Mr Stones met with the teachers to discuss how the groups had performed, focussing on their teamwork, presentation, accounting and business records. After much deliberation he chose his top 3 groups.
1st Place ‘JA Enterprises’ – Johnny and Alexander; selling JA parent selection boxes and JA kids selection boxes
2nd Place ‘Flaming 3’ – Iggy, Finn and Samuel; selling bracelets and biscuits
3rd Place ‘Sew Crafty’ – Aiden, Lucy and Emily; selling cushions, wooden signs and stress balls.
We are looking forward to welcoming Mr Stones back for our Junior Speech Day where he will present the cup to our winning team.
