Well, it was perhaps the hottest sports day on record at The Firs as our children ran, jumped, skipped, dressed up and completed over 90 races during the afternoon. Scores were meticulously kept and our judges did a wonderful job of keeping track of the positions the children came in as they crossed the finish line.
Some of the youngest children, our Fir Cones Kindergarten class also joined us and bravely completed their races with the whole school cheering them on.
At the end of the event the entire school also took part in the Race for Life where the children (and a few brave parents) had the choice of completing a 1,2 or 3 km circuit to raise money for Cancer Research. The event certainly showed true Firs spirit as the children cheered and encouraged each other to go run just that little bit further to raise those extra pounds. Well done to everyone!
The final results from sports day were as follows:
Infant winners – Hawks 253, runners up – Falcons 158 and Eagles 98
Junior winners – Eagles 317, runners up – Hawks 267 and Falcons 235
