All arrived safely this morning and they are getting on with their activities this afternoon!

The Firs School Chester proudly released its new inspection report today. The school is very happy to receive such a positive report from the Independent Inspectors which we think fairly reflects the school and it's ethos. We are holding our Reception Assessments on Mon 5th and Fri 8th of February for entry to our Reception class in September 2010. If you would like your child to attend please fill out the on-line form or contact the school office.

The Firs is open today as normal. As always in these conditions if you can't get into school due to your own circumstances please let us know but we understand in some areas it is very difficult. If you wish to take your child home early today if there is further snow we would ask you call ahead to let us know.

Due to the snow and ice all after school sports clubs are cancelled this week.

Due to the disruption to the start of term the deadline for prompt payment of the fees has been extended to tomorrow (Tuesday 12th January). If the payment arrives in the bank or a cheque is received in the office you will get a £30 reduction in next terms bill. Those parents on HTC will get the reduction in the current term.

The school will be closed on Friday 8th January due to the ongoing bad weather and we will close at 3pm today. There will be no after-school clubs today. The theatre trips to Birkenhead and Manchester have been cancelled.

School will be open tomorrow Thursday 7th Jan. Currently the planned theatre trips to Manchester and Birkenhead are going ahead. The coach to Manchester leaves at 9am sharp. There will, of course, be checks made with the highway agency and the coach company as to the safety of the roads before setting out.

Updated 6.30pm The school will be closed tomorrow on Wed 6th Jan. due to the heavy snow falls in the area. We will attempt to open on Thu 7th Jan. Please check this website and Dee106.3 for updates.
