National Poetry Day

National Poetry Day was marked at The Firs by a visit from published poet Coral Rumble. She held poetry workshops throughout the school, from Reception to J4 (Year 6).
These photographs show J1 (Year 3) children playing a game where they had to ‘beat the clock’ to find rhyming words, which were then used to create a variety of poems.
Great fun was had by all, as the children learnt that writing poetry is not just for experts!
