Some of our children attended a gifted and talented art day. Charlie and Tamsin were proud to show us the results of their labours with pieces inspired by the Italian artist Gaudi.
On Saturday, 15th October, we hosted a 2nd gifted and talented day for children from Cheshire schools. Mrs Lawrenson planned and organised a day full of workshops based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice books. As well as being a very famous author, based locally in Daresbury, Carroll was a gifted mathematician who invented the Carroll diagram. Following their work on Kenya, children in year 6 have been copying the style of some African art. We were very lucky to have visits from Mr Bhandari, who was born there, and from Mrs Dee, who spent her honeymoon there this summer. We continued being lucky when we found that Becky’s auntie had also visited Kenya and had brought back some wonderful examples of real African art: what an inspiration!
The Year 4 & 5 netball team took part in a thrilling match against Rydal Penrhos at the County Offices Sports Club on Friday the 4th November.
