Firs School Election 2005 |
Pupils in J4 (Year 6) held their own elections just before the
general election.
The parties were, Red, Blue, Yellow and Green and party members
were chosen by lot. Party manifestos were prepared during English
lessons, with careful consideration being given to health, education,
defence and the environment.
Each party presented their ideas to the electorate (J3/ Year
5) who voted overwhelmingly for the Green party. The Greens promised
and end to university tuition fees, cleaner hospitals, a ban on
smoking in all public places and to strengthen relationships with
other countries.

J4 thoroughly enjoyed using their debating skills and learning
more about the democratic process.
