The Firs Annual Cross Country for Children In Need

The Firs Annual Cross Country for Children In Need

The Firs annual Cross Country Race for Children In Need took place on Friday 18th November at Upton Playing Fields. Parents and staff alike were very proud of the sportsmanship from all of the runners. Unfortunately due to the soft conditions we had to limit the Years 5 and 6 race to 2km instead of 3. Many new parents were still quite surprised that our pupils were expected to run even this far, and 500m for the Reception pupils! Fantastic running though and what an effort from all of our children. A very closely fought race amongst our older pupils resulted in fast times for the winners, Alexander O’H and Holly S. Well done to all of the pupils and to Mr Girvan for organising the event. The amount raised from the cakes and donations on the day took the total to £310 to Children in Need. Many thanks  to all who donated.

Our Fir Cones Pre-School class also held their own mini Cross Country Race in their outdoor play space during the afternoon. Pudsey would have been proud!
