Planning is busily going ahead for the 2nd annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Building on the success last year we will be offering a range of exciting and fun activities for all children between 3-11. Last year for example we had model making, science experimentation, pottery and story telling amongst others. This is a community event open to all and completely free. We will be sending a letter to all parents with publicity leaflets as soon as we have them from the printers. In the meantime if you would like to book your place please follow the link here.

Men’s sponsored bike ride - April 28-29

Two years ago a group of parents from The Firs and members of Christchurch Chester set out on a sponsored bike ride to raise money for the Lightproject, a local Christian charity based in Chester. Together we raised an amazing amount £2144. So this year we are going to have another go! The date for the diary is April 28-29 and will involve an overnight stay in a bunk house. If you would like to take part please contact Tim Longman at tim.longman@firsschool.org

The route we are planning is around Cadair Idris and the rough outline can be seen below. You will need to be reasonably fit (2 days in a saddle is pretty tough) and your mountain bike needs to be in fair condition (we had too many punctures and other minor mechanical problems last year)!

Happy Christmas!

We wish all pupils, parents and staff a happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year. A particular thanks goes to the Cooks who left us last year to move to London. They sent us an early Christmas present in the form of a lovely bench which we have put under the climbing rose arch.

The teachers got into the Christmas mood on the last day of term!

We enjoyed all the Christmas cards that the children made and which were kindly printed by the FPG. This one was by George D.

Mrs Taylor has had a son!
