Well done to all the school for a great christmas service last Wednesday. Each year group performed a song and the School choir and Chamber choir performed. I especially liked the "Heaven invites you to a party" with the voices calling out from around All Saints church. The collection over the two services raised just over £900. The Firs sponsors 6 children in India who are cared for by the charity Christ for all in Andhra Pradesh. Two of our children recently left the hostel to go on and earn money for their families. Our current J4 class proved just what fantastic fund raisers we have here at the Firs School when last week they presented a cheque for £731.25 to the Injury Minimization Programme (IMPS) supported by St Johns Ambulance in Cheshire. IMPS delivers free training in essential first aid and accident prevention to more than 3000 local year six children each year. Children at the Firs School collected food and treats at the harvest service last week in aid of Save the Family at Plas Bellin. The Firs School was the first school to collect for Save the Family and now a number of schools and organisations also donate at harvest time.

Firs parents and pupils have raised the magnificent sum of £13,649 for Claire House childrens hospice and in the process have become Claire House's number one fund raiser. Parents held a May Ball at the Chester Grosvenor and pupils took part in a sing out for Children concert at the Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool.
