We would like to welcome you to The Firs school to take part in our informal assessment day where you and your child will get an opportunity to tour the school, meet the staff and children and experience our inclusive and nurturing family run school.
Children will be invited to visit the relevant year groups, and take part in some fun activities and games while experiencing the welcoming environment we offer here at The Firs. They will enjoy a playtime and a snack and drink will be provided.
The Firs is a school that consistently achieves high academic excellence. In the past three years 98% of our year 6 pupils have moved onto their first choice secondary school. Of these 15% received scholarships, being some of the top academic achievers in the Cheshire area. Our latest inspection report awarded our Early Years department outstanding and stated that our children make excellent progress, displaying exceptional personal social and emotional development in an environment that make excellent use of a wide range of good quality resources both inside and out.
We have a small number of academic scholarships for children who will be entering Y3 in September 2019. Children will be assessed through verbal and non verbal reasoning tests and a short maths and english assessment. They will also take part in playtime, snack time and get to spend some fun time in the classroom with their current year group.
Children for entry into our Pre-School Fir Cones department for 2,3 and 4 year olds DO NOT require any assessment and we welcome visits and tours at any time.
For children entering our Reception class 2019 we have a full transition programme including parent workshops, regular class visits and an early commitment discount on fees
