Firs Choir members selected to record a song in aid of Macmillan Cancer

Last weekend three of our choir, Jonni A, Annabel W and Lucy W-J, were selected to take part in a large Chester choir. A recording was made of a new song in aid of Macmillan Cancer and was filmed for future publicity ventures for the charity. Mrs Starbuck-Jones reported that the event was very successful and we should have details of how to download the track soon. This is part of the ‘AmaSing!’ project taking place in Chester in the spring for the first time of which we are part.

The company’s activities will provide a positive benefit to a diverse range of communities from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

We aim to work collaboratively with educational establishments including primary/high schools, colleges, universities and art specialists to develop and enhance children’s wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem. It will also support professional development for teachers and training teachers in developing skills and opportunities to deliver singing, music and arts in the daily school curriculum.’
