The Firs School welcomes you to our website. On our site you will learn about The Firs School and why we could be the right choice for your child. The Firs is a Co-educational primary school for children between three and eleven with a well-balanced curriculum, experienced and qualified staff, an excellent academic record and caring atmosphere. Reception Taster Sessions for entry in 2013
If you're thinking of entering your child for Reception in 2013 then register for our Reception Taster days this year. Your child will get to do lots of interesting activities, make some art and listen to a story and even have a snack. As for parents, coffee and biscuits will be provided in the library along with a free wifi link if you need to carry on with business (or pleasure). A tour of the school will also be offered for those who haven't seen it.
This is now the normal route for entry to Reception. If your child is in The Firs Kindergarten we will be arranging many sessions for them in Reception to get used to what happens in "Big School", but if you'd like to be around when they have a session please let the teachers know.
We have set aside 4 initial days for Tue 16th Oct, Tue 20th Nov, Wed 23rd Jan and Wed 27th Feb. If you'd like to register for a session please fill in the form below or contact the school office.
The children and staff all put in a tremendous effort to support the grand Roald Dahl dress-up day in aid of the 
There were plenty of Willy Wonkas, lots of Hungry Crocodiles, Ladybirds, Veruca Salts, Twits, Charlie's and Oompa Lumpas. The staff dressed up too with Mrs Crompton's BFG being a particular standout.
The Kindergarten made their own Chocolate Factory which will get it's own story!
For lunch and snack we had our own special Roald Dahl menu with wiggly worms and grobswitchy spaghetti!

Firs School Reception Taster Mornings
As last year instead of a single assessment in January we have a number of taster mornings. Children who will be ready for reception in September 2013 come into the school for a morning to do some activities and meet the teachers. Assuming all goes well we will offer your child a place. If you would like to book a place please contact the school office or fill in the on-line form.
